Kentucky man dies in single-engine plane crash in southern Indiana

CLARK COUNTY — A Kentucky man died Saturday afternoon in a single-engine plane crash in southern Indiana.

Joshua E. Warren, 30, of Louisiville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near New Washington in Clark County, according to Indiana State Police.

At around 3:25 p.m. Saturday, a passing motorist called police after seeing what appeared to be plane wreckage in a field. Clark County deputies arrived and found a Cessna Skyhawk C172 single-engine plane that had departed Bowman Field in Louisville a few minutes after 3 p.m.

Investigators believe the plane crashed at 3:23 p.m., but the cause of the crash is not known, according to ISP.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to arrive Sunday to continue the investigation.
