FRANKLIN — Interested in adopting a kitten or cat? You can do so this Saturday at PetSmart in Franklin.

Animal Outreach of Shelby County (AOSC) is teaming up with the store for a "Kitten Adoption Pop Up Pawty" from noon to 3 p.m. at 1081 North Morton (U.S. 31) in Franklin.

The outreach group will have more than a dozen felines ready for adoption. AOSC adoption fees for kittens at the event are $90 for one kitten, $160 for two. Adults are $60. All cats and kittens have been spayed or neutered, have received age-appropriate vaccinations and are dewormed and deflead.

Kittens have been fostered in volunteer homes.

The adoption process is done online at [], click on the “Pop Up.” Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified families. Families intending on adopting are encouraged to get pre-approved prior to the event.

Masks are required for all potential adopters and volunteers at the event. Please bring your own mask. Hand sanitizer will also be made available.

Animal Outreach of Shelby County is a no-kill cat advocacy organization that partners with municipal shelters to transfer in cats and kittens in need of more care than the municipal shelters can provide.
