LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- A 15-year-old student brought a loaded gun to Lafayette Jefferson High School Monday, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

The gun was found after the Lafayette School Corporation administration and school security were notified that the student may have had a firearm on the school's property.

The juvenile was transported to the Lafayette Police Department and juvenile probation. He has been preliminarily charged with possession of a handgun and possession of stolen property.

The student's identity has not been released.
