LAPEL, Ind. -- Decorations were stolen -- and in one case damaged -- from four homes in Lapel earlier this week.

According to the Lapel Police Department, the thefts and vandalism took place on December 21 and December 22. Police believe the incidents are connected and were likely done by more than one person.

Frosty the Snowman and Mrs. Claus decorations were stolen from a porch in the 3000 block of Hawthorne Drive.

A vintage wooden Santa Claus that has been in the family for several generations and an LED Christmas tree were stolen from a home in the 500 block of South Ford Street.

A laser light was stolen from the 1300 block of Gwinn Lane.

That same night, a string of lights was torn down and a Santa Claus decoration was stolen in the 100 block of East 7th Street.

Police say that incident was caught on a security camera from a nearby business. The truck in the image below was seen in front of the victim's home.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lapel Police Department at 765-534-4600 or 765-642-0221.
