INDIANAPOLIS -- Several buildings were evacuated after a large pipeline collapsed at a manufacturing plant on Indianapolis' southwest side Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the Rolls-Royce North American Technologies building on Tibbs Avenue just before noon.

Wayne Township Fire Department Captain Mike Pruitt said a high-pressured air-handling pipeline collapsed on the property, possibly after a high-pressure air release.

The piping structure was about 200-feet long and also damaged an outside building on the property.

Several nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution but Captain Pruitt said no gases were found inside the pipes. No injuries have been reported and all workers were accounted for.

Rolls-Royce engineers and WTFD fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the collapse.

According to their website, The Rolls-Royce Indianapolis plant builds more Rolls-Royce products than anywhere else in the world.

Approximately 4,000 employees work at the Indianapolis plant in manufacturing, assembly, test, engineering and a variety of other support roles.
