INDIANAPOLIS — A young Indianapolis man has received a lengthy prison sentence, following his murder conviction.
In March, a jury convicted 19-year-old D'Andrae Robinson in the murder of Dallis Coleman, a 64-year-old Indianapolis man.
Wednesday, a Marion County judge sentenced Robinson to 69 years.
Coleman was found dead by his son at his northeast side home near East 56th Street and North Arlington Avenue in October of 2017.
At the time, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said Robinson and a second suspect ransacked Coleman's house before killing him.
The other suspect, 18-year-old Christopher Taliefer, is scheduled for trial next month.
He was 17 at the time of the murder, but was charged as an adult.
The Marion County Prosecutor said Robinson and Taliefer plotted to rob Coleman and ended up killing him.
In an affidavit, investigators say they found evidence of Coleman’s debit card being used at multiple locations following his death, including a purchase of Nikes at a shoe store at Washington Square Mall.
An autopsy found Coleman suffered a gunshot wound to the head and other injuries.
