INDIANAPOLIS — Police are looking for one suspect in the shooting of a security guard at a west side Indianapolis liquor store early Wednesday evening.
A public information officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the victim was "awake and breathing" before being rushed to the hospital and is in serious-but-stable condition.
The shooting happened after 6 p.m. at Liquorland, 3950 North High School Road, near I 465 and West 38th Street.
Police at the scene told RTV 6 the guard saw a person in the store trying to steal a bottle and confronted the young man.
When the guard asked the suspect for an ID, he pulled out a gun and shot the guard.
The suspect was last seen running south on High School Road.
