INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis location of Latitude 360, an entertainment venue offering bowling, movies, food and a comedy club, is closing its doors.
According to jacksonville.com, an eviction lawsuit claimed the landlord of the clubs in Indianapolis and Jacksonville was owed $5.8 million in back rent and for a construction loan.
The Jacksonville club was also closed.
CEO Brent Brown said he settled with the landlord to release the company of all liabilities.
Terms of the settlement weren't disclosed.
Brown told jacksonville.com that much of the company's financial problems could be attributed to the closing of one of its three lenders that were financing Latitude 360's $40 million expansion into other cities.
CEO Brown released a statement on the closures.
"We want to thank these communities for their support and loyalty over the years as Latitude 360 developed and refined our award-winning concept. Although there is disappointment in closing these two locations, our brand and concept remain strong and we feel that this settlement will provide the company the opportunity to expand the Latitude 360 brand to multiple new locations across the country. We will always cherish the memories and great times we had with our guests in Jacksonville and Indianapolis."
The Indianapolis location was at 4016 E. 82nd Street.
