ANDERSON, Ind. -- If you have the cash and ideas, an iconic landmark in downtown Anderson could be yours Thursday.
What is now known as the PNC Bank Building at 1106 Meridian Street in Anderson will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, starting at 11 a.m. in the bank building lobby.
The seven-story property in the heart of Anderson was built for and known as the Anderson Banking Building in 1928.
Auction registration starts 10 a.m. and final inspections begin 10:30 a.m.
Auctioneer Fine & Company calls it “an absolute auction – to be sold to the highest bidder regardless of price!”
The PNC Bank building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1985.
Fine & Company describes it as “a high-profile location, near the courthouse, with incredible visibility and brand recognition this building has unlimited potential.”
The building is far from empty however, 27 percent of the space is occupied, including the PNC bank on the main floor.
Fine & Company describes the property as, “…iconic with prominent corner locations in downtown Anderson. Anderson is experiencing urban growth with the expansion of high-tech industry.
