Woman rams man's truck in Madison Co., stabs herself several times

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. -- A woman suffered serious knife wounds and a sheriff's deputy was slightly injured during a confrontation at a Madison County home Sunday afternoon.

Deputies were responding to a domestic violence call in the 4000 block west of County Road 1900 N. when they found what appeared to be evidence from a crash in the roadway.

Witnesses told them a woman intentionally rammed her truck into a man's truck twice as he tried to drive away from the home. 

Deputies say they went into the home to find the woman. She would not cooperate and ran into a bedroom.

The woman grabbed a knife stabbed herself several times causing at least two life-threatening injuries, according to authorities. The deputies applied a tourniquet to her arterial wound.  Donna Gray, 57, of Fairmount, is listed as stable at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis. 

One of the deputies was injured by the knife as they struggled to get control of Gray. He was treated and released from a local hospital. 

The Madison Count Sheriff says Gray is expected to be released and transferred to the Madison County Jail in the next day or so. Criminal recklessness charges are being requested and additional charges are being considered.
