INDIANAPOLIS -- A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident on Indianapolis' west side where a pickup truck hit an infant in a stroller.
Police say Benjamin Harrison, 31, turned himself in Tuesday after a warrant was issued on charges of failure to stop at an accident involving serious bodily injury and failure to stop at an accident involving injury.
According to officers, the infant's grandmother was pushing the stroller across West Washington Street at Fleming Street around 5:30 pm. on September 21, when a pickup struck them both. The truck did not stop.
The infant was thrown from the stroller and taken to Riley Hospital for Children. The grandmother was not seriously injured.
Police were looking for a black 1999-2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 extended cab truck, with possible gray trim on the lower portion of the body and a chrome front bumper.
The pickup was located on September 27 at a home near I-465 and Washington Avenue.
