MADISON COUNTY, Ind. -- A man is under arrest for carjacking an SUV in Anderson Sunday night with an elderly woman inside.
Police say Robert Louis Rickard III, 34, of Anderson, forcibly took a Honda CRV from a family at the intersection of 59th Street and Scatterfield Road.
Two of the people inside the vehicle escaped, but an elderly woman stayed inside the SUV as Rickard reportedly drove away.
Several law enforcement agencies chased the SUV on I-69 south through Madison, Hamilton and Marion Counties.
Rickard was arrested near 56th Street and Shadeland Avenue.
None of the three family members said they were hurt but one was treated at the hospital later as a precaution.
Richard is facing charges of robbery/carjacking and auto theft.
