INDIANAPOLIS -- The man who was shot and killed inside the Indiana Discount Mall Sunday night has been identified.
Police say two men got into a fist fight at around 5:50 p.m. in the back of the mall near the bathrooms. Investigators with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say the conflict between the men actually started the night before.
"(It) is a belief that Saturday, there was some type of non-physical confrontation between these individualsthat kind of carried over into Sunday," IMPD Sgt. Kendale Adams said.
In the store, police say one man pulled out a gun and shot the other twice in the torso.
A third man saw what happened, pulled out a gun of his own, and shot the gunman, who later died at Eskenazi Health. He was later identified as Jimmy Sevilla, 19.
The coroner says Sevilla died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Police say the gun that Sevilla used in the shooting was stolen.
The first man who was shot is in critical condition.
Detectives have detained the third man for questioning. He is cooperating with police.
