INDIANAPOLIS – A man was found dead on I-70 after he was involved in a car crash Saturday morning.
Indianapolis police responded to a single-vehicle crash shortly before 6 a.m. on I-70 eastbound near Shadeland Avenue.
When police and emergency crews arrived, they found an abandoned Black 2008 Chrysler van crashed into the median wall.
About 100 yards behind the van, officers found 27-year-old Devon Cissell of Indianapolis lying on the left shoulder of the interstate.
Preliminary investigation finds Cissell struck the median wall and the impact of the crash, and not wearing a seatbelt, caused him to be ejected from the vehicle.
I really wish this young man would have worn his seatbelt, if so this tweet likely wouldn't exist ? #BuckleUp https://t.co/44OVGqrUYZ

The van hit the wall several times before coming to a stop about 150 yards from the first impact.
Investigators will determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
