BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. -- A man is facing several charges after Christmas Eve police chase in Bartholomew County.

Deputies were called out around 5:00 p.m. to US 31 near Taylorsville to handle a civil matter.

They started to walk up to two vehicles that were pulling out onto US 31.

One driver backed away.

Deputies say the other driver gave them a fake name and then drove off.

They chased him until he got out of the vehicle and ran away.

Other law enforcement and a K-9 unit joined the search.

The K-9 found the man hiding in car in a locked garage.

Deputies say he had a dagger with him.

In addition to two previous felony warrants, 43-year-old Billy Ray Denson of Taylorsville, is facing new charges including operating a vehicle with a lifetime suspension and resisting law enforcement with a vehicle.

Denson is in the Bartholomew County Jail on $57,000 bond.
