2 people trapped after crash on city's west side

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man is in serious condition after a car accident on the city's west side Thursday afternoon. 

The man was trapped after a head-on collision with another car. The driver in the other car was also trapped.

That woman and a child who was in the car were transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital. The mother is in stable condition and the child is in good condition.

 The man was transported to Eskenazi. 

The crash happened at Washington Street and Fleming Street around 4:30 p.m.

It took emergency crews approximately 15 minutes to get the drivers out of their cars. 

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the crash.
