INDIANAPOLIS — An SUV went out of control and into an east side Indianapolis house, late Thursday evening.
It happened at North Drexel Avenue and East New York Street, a few blocks west of Emerson Avenue.
A man who was in the house was trapped and emergency teams worked about 20 minutes to get him out. He was rushed to the hospital. A Public Information Officer with the Indianapolis Fire Department says the victim appeared to be in stable condition.
The IFD spokesperson says the SUV was traveling on New York Street when it swerved to avoid another vehicle and went out of control and into the house.
Two people in the SUV were not injured.
Damage to the house appeared to be heavy. After the victim was rushed away, firefighters worked to get the vehicle out of the house. It was then towed away.
