INDIANAPOLIS—Larry Spivey is going to prison for 45 years for the December 2017 murder of his uncle.

That was the sentence handed down for the 25-year-old Indianapolis man in Marion County Criminal Court, Friday.

In early-June, jurors convicted Spivey in the murder of Albert Ford.

The 50-year-old northeast side man was shot one time in the back and was found dead on the front lawn of a home in the 4100 block of Newburgh Avenue.

According to the Marion County Prosecutor, Spivey had an argument in the yard with Ford, who was his uncle.

Witnesses told police that Ford turned his back on Spivey and started to walk away, when he was shot.

Spivey then fled, but was found and arrested two days later in Chicago.
