BLACKFORD Co. -- A man convicted of killing a Blackford County father and his teenage daughter is scheduled to be sentenced Monday.
Charles Whittington is facing up to 170 years in prison for the murders.
Earlier this month, a jury found Whittington guilty of shooting Shane Williamson and Williamson's 14-year-old daughter, Kaitlin.
Whittington's 60th birthday was the same day he was convicted of the crimes, leading many to believe he will die while serving his sentence.
Blackford County prosecutors believe the murders happened on Feb. 5, with Shane shot while sitting next to Williamson in a pick-up truck. Kaitlin was later killed in her bedroom.
A jury also determined that Whittington used a gun in the commissions of felonies.
The murder convictions carry a standard 55-year sentence and the gun convictions could each lead to sentence enhancements of 5-20 years.
The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. in Blackford County.
