MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State University students were advised to shelter in place Thursday night after a man with a gun was reported on campus.

The alert went out around 8:30 p.m., when an armed man was reported near the area of DeHorty and Woodworth halls.
The shelter-in-place advisory was lifted around 10:15 p.m. The school said there was no lingering threat to the campus.
Shelter in place has been lifted. There is no ongoing threat. UPD continues to investigate.
