INDIANAPOLIS -- Thursday was a great night for the manager of the Mount Vernon eighth grade basketball team.
14-year-old Keegan Bond has Down Syndrome.
He's been the team manager for one year, but Thursday night Keegan got to take to the hardwood as one of the team's starting five.
Wearing number 23, Keegan scored five points including two buckets and one foul shot. Way to go!
Mount Vernon won the game.
Keegan's mother, Sarah, says her son was proud to represent his school and was thrilled to get a chance to play.
She also congratulated the team from Creston Middle School for their sportsmanship.
