ANDERSON, Ind. -- A man's body was found along the White River in Anderson Sunday morning.

The body was located by a fisherman just before 11 a.m. near 6th and Louise streets along the river.

The decedent's wife had reported him missing around 9:20 a.m. Sunday.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department was investigating the man's death, but said there are no signs of foul play.

The Madison County coroner determined the cause of death was suicide.

The White River has been the site of several grim discoveries in recent months.

The body of an 18-year-old man was found Friday in Indianapolis.

Last month, the body of 44-year-old James Rice was pulled from the White River near New York Street.

Police were initially only able to identify the body by a tattoo on Rice's back reading "Only God Can Judge Me."

A week later, a possible human arm was recovered from the river near 10th Street – about a mile north of where Rice's body was discovered.

The possible arm has not yet been positively identified.
