INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Deputy Chief James Waters will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
Deputy Chief Waters died Thursday from injuries he sustained from a crash the weekend before.
He served IMPD for nearly 30 years, first as a civilian employee and then as a sworn officer. Waters was appointed Deputy Chief of Investigations in Jan. 2017 by Chief Bryan Roach.
Waters funeral will take place at Bankers Life Fieldhouse starting at 11 p.m.
A procession through the city and past IMPD East District Headquarters will follow.
