INDIANAPOLIS -- Southport Police Department Lieutenant Aaron Allan will be laid to rest on Saturday at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Lt. Allan died last Thursday after he was shot multiple times by a man he was trying to help while responding to a car accident.
Lt. Allan was a 6-year veteran of the Southport Police Department and had just been promoted to the city's first full-time position in January. He had over 20 years of law enforcement experience.
His funeral will be held at Bankers Life starting at 11 a.m. with a full processional through the city and past the Southport Police Department before returning his body to Crown Hill Cemetery to be buried. You can view the full route list and an interactive map below.

- West on Washington St. to Capitol Ave
- South on Capitol Ave to McCarty

- South on Derbyshire to Southport Police Department, pause at Southport PD for 1042. Proceed south to Southport RD
- West on Southport Rd to US31
- North on US 31 to Delaware
- North on Delaware to Michigan
- West on Michigan to Illinois
- North on Illinois to 34th St.
- West on 34th Street to Graceland (Garrison Flag)
- West on 34th to entrance to Crown Hill Cemetery
