INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was arrested for drunk driving a skid loader down an Indianapolis street in the middle of the night, according to police.
According to police reports, the John Deere Skid Steer, a piece of construction equipment, was spotted in the 1800 block of North Linwood Avenue just before 12:30 a.m. on Thursday.
When police tried to pull it over, the man driving it tried to get out and run, but he was caught quickly by responding officers.
Police say Wade Garrett, 39, refused to take a breathalyzer test on the scene, but they were about to get a search warrant to test his blood.
Garrett was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
