LAWRENCE, Ind. -- For several months, Lawrence residents have been hearing about big plans for the newly revitalized Fort Harrison area, and this weekend, you can start seeing some of the results.
The non-profit group Arts for Lawrence is putting on its first in-house production at the Theater at the Fort.
It’s a world premiere stage adaption of the Ernest Hemingway novel, “The Old Man and the Sea.”
Arts for Lawrence Production Director Lecia Floyd says although the theater has hosted productions before, this is the first time that Arts for Lawrence has taken the reins.
Floyd says audiences can expect a spectacular show highlighting the talents of people who work and live in the Lawrence community.
Opening weekend begins this Friday night at 6:30 p.m., with a gala red carpet celebration featuring dinner and drinks before the show, and dessert and wine during intermission.
The production will spread over the next two weekends, so you’ll have at least four more chances to see the show.
