INDIANAPOLIS – PBS suspended him over “credible” allegations of sexual misconduct. And now, the man who grew up in Indiana and went to IU is coming back home to hold talks tied up in that very issue.
Broadcaster Tavis Smiley is moderating a panel discussion this week called “The Conversation: Women, Men and the Workplace.”

The panel will comprise experts who will discuss how to create workplaces where both sexes can engage with each other “with respect and without fear of reprisal.”
Organizers say the discussion will include what constitutes acceptable office behavior and how the workplace can better balance power and equality.
It’s happening at 7 p.m. Friday at Witherspoon Presbyterian Church at 5136 Michigan Road.

Smiley, a prominent personality and author who has hosted shows for PBS, BET, and PRI, grew up in Indiana and often talks about his Hoosier ties.
