Editor's note: A previous version of this story stated that CICOA's meal delivery program was defunct.  The program is still in operation and will provide frozen meals to seniors every other week instead of daily hot meals. There is a cost involved with Meals on Wheels food delivery in Marion County. CICOA's  program is free to those who qualify.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana is offering to assist more than 1,400 senior citizens who, as of Monday, will longer receive daily hot meal delivery due to budget cuts to CICOA's Meals and More program.

CICOA home delivery clients will instead receive a batch of frozen meals every other week.

"We could reduce the number of people we served, or the number of meals we serve, but doing frozen meals seemed to be the best option we had with the available funding," said Orion Bell, CICOA CEO.
