INDIANAPOLIS — The Glendale area is now home to a big, empty building since Macy's closed earlier this spring.

But plans are underway to change that.

The owners of the property hosted a meeting Monday night to discuss redevelopment in the area. The company is proposing a plan to add retail and residential properties.

Dan Henkel has lived in the area for more than 30 years. He wants the community's voice to be part of the process.

"it's so important that ou talk to the neighbors, work with the neighbors. These folks seem to be aware of that," Henkel said. "We applaud that we look forward to working with those who are concerned and partners in the development."

The process is in its early stages, and the company plans to hold more public meetings in the future.
