INDIANAPOLIS — After a one-week deployment to aid people on the Gulf Coast in the wake of powerful Hurricane Laura, members of Indiana Task Force 1 are headed home.
Members of the unit deployed Aug. 25 to assist with urban search and rescue operations from the hurricane, which came ashore in Louisiana with 150 mph winds.
Indiana Task Force 1 searched hundreds of square miles and provided support to the residents of Vernon Parrish, Louisiana.
The task force is expected home on Wednesday.
