Men break clerk's nose in liquor store robbery

INDIANAPOLIS -- Two men were arrested Wednesday following a liquor store robbery in which they allegedly broke the clerk's nose.

The robbery happened at the Liquor Barn located on the 4200 block of East New York Street.

Officers arrived to find a male subject leaving the store with a box in his hand. The man then dropped the box and walked toward officers with his hands raised.

He was taken into custody and identified as 45-year-old Lamarr Coleman of Indianapolis.

A second suspect, 44-year-old Paul Shipp, was found inside the store allegedly assaulting the store clerk. He too was taken into custody.

The 26-year-old clerk was taken to the hospital with a possible broken nose.

Coleman and Shipp face preliminary charges of robbery. Shipp faces additional charges of strangulation, intimidation and battery.
