INDIANAPOLIS --  Meridian Street was closed for over an hour Monday afternoon after a semi struck the railroad bridge near Union Station and got wedged underneath it.

The accident happened just before 3 p.m. and caused traffic delays through the first portion of rush hour. The semi was eventually removed and the road reopened around 4:45 p.m.

The driver told police that his GPS told him he would have clearance to get under the bridge.

No one was injured and the accident did not cause any structural damage to the bridge.
