ANDERSON, Ind. – An Anderson mom wants justice after her 5-year-old son was struck in the head with a BB gun.

While riding in a golf cart, Natasha McAdams said someone shot a BB at her son Bentley’s head. Doctors said the BB was lodged very closely to his brain stem and decided to leave it there without surgery.

Anderson police later said a 14-year-old boy was responsible but didn’t reveal whether they believe Bentley was intentionally shot.

McAdams said she hopes the teen is charged in the case.

“I asked him (Bentley) if he wanted the boy who did this to him to get in trouble and go to jail. He doesn't understand what juvenile is of course, but he knows what jail is and he said yes,” said McAdams. “Seeing my child look at me, telling me yes, makes me feel like I need to do what my child wants me to do.”

The decision will be left to the Madison County Prosecutor’s Office.
