MONROE COUNTY, Ind. -- A Monroe County Correction Center inmate died one day after jumping from the upper level of the cell block he was housed in, according to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Michael Favor, of Unionville, was in jail on a parole violation and possession of methamphetamine.

According to the press release, Favor was taken to IU Health Bloomington in critical condition, where he died Sunday morning.

A review of video found Favor walking upstairs to the upper floor of a cell block. It appears that he deliberately climbed over the rail and dropped, according to the release.
