BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- A Bloomington woman traveled to Minnesota to meet the stranger who saved her life.

Martha Sullivan received a life-saving bone marrow transplant last fall from a man who lived 800 miles away – so when she got the chance to meet him in person, she took it.

Last weekend, Martha and her family traveled to Minnesota to meet Ben OBryne.

OBryne had signed up for the “Be the Match” registry years ago – and had forgotten about it until he got the call.

Thanks to his selfless act, Martha is alive today.

Hear more about their heartwarming reunion in the video player above.

You can “Be the Match” for one of thousands of patients around the world who is still waiting for a bone marrow donor.

Bone marrow can be used to cure 70 different blood diseases.

The Indiana Blood Center says they get better results from younger donors, but anyone between the ages of 18 and 44 can donate.

You can register online at IndianaBlood.Org or call 317-916-5112 to get a registration packet which includes a simple do-it-yourself cheek swab.
