INDIANAPOLIS—In Indianapolis, National Vietnam War Veterans Day featured a Monument Circle ceremony honoring 50 Indiana servicemen and one civilian still classified as missing in action from the war.

Under cloudy skies, relatives of some of the 51 joined veterans groups and members of the Daughters of the American Revolution for the late-morning ceremony.

51 new bricks were unveiled, each inscribed with the name of a service member and the one civilian still missing.

The Caroline Scott Harrison branch of the DAR organized the ceremony, with the help of other Indiana chapters.

58,000 of the more than 2.7 million Americans who served in Vietnam died in the war.

1,534 of the war dead were from Indiana.

The Virtual Wall of Faces website has tributes to these men and women.
