Rainy weather to blame

INDIANAPOLIS — The electricians who put up and take down the holiday lights on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis each year can't seem to catch a break. But for those who enjoy the yearly spectacle, that's good news.

Downtown Indy announced Wednesday that plans to take down the lights this coming weekend have been postponed due to the threat of rain. It's the second weekend in a row this has happened.

The earliest the lights will come down now is the weekend of the 25th.

The good news: As long as the lights are up, they will be kept on around-the-clock.

Jennifer Hanson, Senior Communications Director for Downtown Indy, says this is the longest the lights have stayed up and lit in recent history.

So if you didn't get to Monument Circle during the holiday season, you still have time left!
