Mooresville Fire Chief Timothy Medsker dies

MOORESVILLE — Mooresville residents are mourning the loss of their fire chief.

53-year-old Tim Medsker passed away Monday.

Medsker worked as a dispatcher in Plainfield and Mooresville before beginning his official firefighter career in February of 1994. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1997, captain in 1999, and his current position of chief in 2009.

Medsker was named Firefighter of the Year on two occasions during his time with the Mooresville Fire Department. He had also recently served as assistant chief of the Monroe Township Fire District.

He leaves behind wife Tammy Medsker and children Baron and Payton.

Friends and family will gather Friday, July 17, 4 to 8 p.m., at Mt. Gilead Church, 6019 E. State Road 144, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 18, at the church.
