MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. -- Morgan County high school students are being asked to make a public promise not to do drugs.
When students at the county’s four public high schools return from fall break, they will receive colorful lanyards with the message: “Defy The Perception, Be The Majority.”
The Morgan County Substance Abuse Council has taken on the project as a way to promote its Drug Free Youth of Morgan County groups.
Each high school will have its own group which will create an anti-drug media campaign with the message that the majority of students chose not to be drug users.
Overall, Morgan ranks high among Indiana counties for drug addiction.
For more than thirty years, the Substance Abuse Council has worked to reduce drug use among county residents.
