Mother going to prison for death of her baby boy

INDIANAPOLIS—A 22-yer-old Indianapolis woman is going to state prison for her role in the death of her one-month-old baby boy.

Jessica Stultz was sentenced Wednesday in Marion County Criminal Court. In a plea deal, she pleaded guilty to a charge of Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Bodily Injury. The prosecution dismissed a charge of Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Death.

Stultz will serve 475 days in prison, 275 days on home detention and 730 days on probation.

According to the Marion County Coroner, baby Lamont Findley died of dehydration and malnutrition due to neglect in early 2017. When police arrived at the infant's home, Lamont was not breathing.

The father, 36-year-old Lance Findley, has already pleaded guilty to neglect charges and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
