ANDERSON — A Madison County woman charged in the death of her 23-month-old daughter received a 40-year prison sentence Tuesday.

Kayla Hudson, 25, pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent resulting in death and neglect of a dependent. Paisley Hudson died last summer from head and liver injuries, according to the Madison County Coroner.

The second charge stems from injuries suffered by her son, 3-year-old Riley Hudson.

Kayla Hudson's boyfriend, 29-year-old Ryan Ramirez, faces murder charges in Paisley's death and neglect charges as a result of injuries to Riley, which included a broken wrist. He is scheduled for trial later this year.
