LAWRENCE, Ind. -- A man was shot twice before crashing his motorcycle in Lawrence early Thursday morning.
Police say his death is being investigated as a homicide.
The crash happened around 2 a.m. near the intersection of 46th Street and Hartman Drive.
The motorcycle crossed the road, went down a ravine and flipped on its side.
Police say the driver, later identified as Shawn Green, 38, had been shot in the torso and in the shoulder. Green died at the hospital.
They aren't sure where the shooting happened, but it appears he was trying to get home because he lived nearby.
"We're not even sure where the shooting incident occurred. We do not believe it occurred there, we don't even know if it occurred while Mr. Green was on his motorcycle. Right now it's part of the investigation to try to determine where the shooting took place, what location that occurred at," Deputy Chief Gary Woodruff said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477.
