INDIANAPOLIS — With no Minor League Baseball to fill the stands this year, the Indianapolis Indians are looking at alternative ways to get people into Victory Field.

Thursday, the team announced a series of Friday night baseball-themed movies in September and October on the big outfield scoreboard screen.

Here's the lineup, with all shows starting at 7 p.m.

  • September 11: The Sandlot
  • September 25: Angels in the Outfield
  • October 9: A League of Their Own

"Fan feedback played a big role in pursuing and eventually hosting movie night at the ballpark," said Indians President and General Manager Randy Lewandowski. "Our organization had held a number of safe, socially-distanced events throughout the summer that have been successful, and we envision our move night series doing the same."

The Indians have hosted summer league college baseball games. This weekend, the playing field at Victory Field has been turned into a golf course. And on September 5, the Grand Slam Auto Show comes to The Vic.
