Murder victim's father returns to crime scene

INDIANAPOLIS -- It's been nine months since his daughter's murder, but Andrew Holmes remembers it like it was yesterday.

A day after police arrested 33-year-old Michael Edwards and 28-year-old Kenneth Jones for the murder, Holmes returned to the crime scene for the first time since the shooting.

Holmes has been to thousands of crime scenes -- he's an anti-violence activist in Chicago and works with the Chicago Police Department as a victim's advocate.

But nothing could have prepared him for the murder of his daughter in Indianapolis.

Tamara Sword, 32, was shot and killed after a fight from a club spilled out onto 38th Street and down to a gas station.

Holmes is now taking care of her five kids and still on a mission to stop gun violence.

He says he's also bringing his message to Indianapolis in an effort to stop our rising number of murders.
