HENRY COUNTY — A New Castle man died in a two-vehicle crash early Monday.

Robert Snedigar, 81, was killed in the crash that occurred at 12:15 a.m. on State Road 38 west of New Castle at Greensboro Pike, according to a news release from Indiana State Police.

State police said investigators determined Snedigar was driving northbound on Greensboro Pike in a silver 2007 Cadillac when he pulled onto State Road 38 and into the path of a New Castle EMS ambulance. The ambulance driver collided with the driver's side of Snedigar's vehicle.

The ambulance driver and a second EMT were not injured. State police said the ambulance was not on an emergency run and did not have any patients on board.

The crash remains under investigation.
