New dog walking app comes to Indy

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS – A new dog walking app that recently launched in Indy just made dog ownership a lot easier.

The WAG app allows owners to find local dog walkers in their area. They simply have to open their app and schedule a time for their dog to be picked up.

A lock box placed on the dog owner’s door allows the walker to gain entrance into the home.

Christine Foulke, the owner of Bobby, said the app is very convenient.

“If I want a walk, I basically go to my app and click like ASAP or schedule it for an hour later or something,” said Foulke. “I get a text from who is assigned to Bobby. So, if I'm off at work or in a meeting, I kind of know what's going on.”

For $20, dog owners can have their pet walked for 30 minutes and a full hour costs $30.

Natalie McFadden, a student home for the summer from IU, said she’s been walking dogs using the app.

“I think since I've been back for the summer, I'm at 40-45 walks,” said Mcfadden. “I have a few regulars that I always walk because once an owner finds a good walker, they can prefer that walker. So, we'll get the notification before any other walker.”
