INDIANAPOLIS -- A big project will impact the commute for people who drive through Fishers starting Monday.
Crews are beginning construction Monday on the new exit from I-69 to 106th Street.
Workers will first shift north and southbound traffic lanes on I-69 and reduce speed limits to 55 miles per hour.
In the coming weeks, the 106th Street bridge will be removed, and construction will start on a new roundabout interchange.
INDOT says that 96th and 116th Streets are over capacity and that a new interchange will improve traffic flow and safety.
Traffic will be detoured south to 96th St. via Allisonville and Lantern Roads during construction.
