INDIANAPOLIS -- A new clinic will offer medical and mental health services to the men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom.
Gov. Mike Pence joined dozens of veterans and their families this week to dedicate the Wakeman VA Clinic at Camp Atterbury.
Mental health services will be a major focus on the new clinic. Veterans face a higher rate of suicide than people who have never served.
"I think we are, over the last several years, starting to really begin to recognize and make the kind of investments and changes that address this significant emotional impact of wearing the uniform and seeing combat," Pence said.
The Wakeman Clinic opened its doors to patients last month.
