BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY — No one was injured when a Bartholomew County school bus caught fire early Friday morning.
Crews were called to the intersection of 550 W and 550 S in reference to a school bus fire around 6:23 a.m. When deputies arrived on the scene the flames were already shooting out of the bus from all sides.
Deputies say the bus driver and two students were able to safely exit the bus before the fire consumed it.
Firefighters quickly put out the fire and deputies transported the two students to school.
“I am very happy that BCSO deputies, and other public safety personnel, arrived quickly and that there were no injuries”, said Bartholomew County Sheriff Matthew A. Myers.
The cause of the school fire remains under investigation.
