NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – A Noblesville man wrestled a gun from a burglar and then fired several shots from the gun early Sunday morning, according to a press release from the Noblesville Police Department.
Noblesville police officers responded to a report of a burglary in the 20000 block of Summit Road around 12:55 a.m.
When officers arrived, the homeowner said he returned home and found a man inside his vehicle in the garage. The man then pointed a gun at the homeowner and ran.
The homeowner chased the man for approximately two blocks before the two began to fight. The homeowner said he wrestled the gun away from the man. The homeowner told police the man then ran and the homeowner fired several shots from the suspect’s gun.
Around 1:19 a.m. police officers found the suspect. He has been identified as Peyton K. Tonning, 19, of Noblesvile. He was not injured from any gun shots.
Tonning has been charged with burglary, robbery and pointing a firearm.
